The Under 15s kicked off their campaign in style with a fantastic performance in thumping Devon-based Chelsea representative side, Blues South West, 6-0.
City’s Under 16s are sure to benefit from the experience of playing Under 18s football for the majority of the season so far as they began their age group Elite League matches with a 2-1 win over North Somerset RTC. Although the team didn’t find top gear, they still dominated the first half but only had a goal from Josh Schuck to show for their endeavours.
It was the final quarter when the match exploded into life as the visitors levelled only for Matty Patrick-Rivers to grab the winner eight minutes from time when he followed up his initial shot to bundle home.
The Under 14s opener in the national competition resulted in a 1-3 home defeat at the hands of Corby Town so they will be aiming to return to form when they go in search of points at Grantham Town this Saturday.
In JPL Development League matches, there were plenty of goals as the Under 12s ran out convincing 11-4 winners over Hereford whilst the Under 13s were overpowered 0-8 by Kettering Town.
In other games, the Under 10 Girls hosted Kidderminster Lions and demonstrated the tremendous progress they have made since they met the same opponents earlier this season. The Reserves travelled to Gresley in Derbyshire, where they suffered their third defeat of the season in a 1-2 loss.
