Worcester City Youth’s Under 15s continued their phenomenal season as they marched into the quarter-finals of the JPL League Cup.
Two Jack Fisher goals gave them a 2-1 home win over RTC North Cheshire as the side maintained the momentum that has seen them lose only one match this season and begin their JPL Elite League campaign with two wins from two.
The Under 16s collected their second JPL Elite League victory after making the long journey to Egham in Surrey to take on Escolla Futsal. Finn Syson gave City the lead after just two minutes with a superb strike from outside the box and a 3-0 triumph was completed with an own goal and a neat finish by Tristan Webby.
There was a real thriller in the Under 18s Floodlit League as City overcame Stourbridge by the odd goal in nine. Riley Keasey hit a hat-trick – his third goal levelling things up as Worcester went from 2-0 up to 3-4 down – and he then supplied the injury-time cross for Joe Clarke to nod the winner. Matty Patrick-Rivers was also amongst the goalscorers.
The Reserves played very well against Fairfield Villa although the 3-2 winning scoreline doesn’t reflect their domination as they conceded two late goals after Max LePoidevin and Hassan Shah (2) had put them in charge.
In other fixtures, the Under 14s suffered a 0-6 JPL League Cup defeat at Alvechurch whilst there was a goal fest for the Under 12s who recovered from being 1-5 down to draw 7-7 in their friendly with Birmingham St Georges. The Under 10s were also in cup action against Halas Hawks and Stoke RTC provided the opposition for the Under 11s.
