City secure Wing Back

City have today completed the signing of wing back, Joel Caines.

Joel was with Stourport Swifts last season and made 41 appearences. Joel has also played for Redditch United, Chasetown and AFC Wulfrunians.

On joining the ranks, Joel had this to day "Having played for Redditch United, Chasetown and knowing that my great grandad was the captain of Worcester City. I am delighted and excited to sign for Worcester City and look forward to this season".

His Great Grandad was John Oakley who played 193 games scoring 16 goals between 1921-7. A Half-back, signed from amateur football.

John won a Birmingham League championship medal 1924/25. And is Sat immediately above the shield in the championship team photo.
