Faithful City Derby hailed as a great success

On Tuesday 17th July, City continued their pre-season campaign with a return to Worcester, as Raiders hosted us for a friendly game, which was a huge success! The evening saw City run out 4-0 winners thanks to first half goals from Dave Reynolds (penalty) and James Baldwin, followed by a second half brace by Aaron Brett. The match saw a mixture of first team and youth team players get game time, along with a number of trialists keen to make an impression on Snape and Hughes.

The 'Faithful City Derby' was a huge success, with nearly 800 turning up for the occasion which was brilliantly organised by all involved. Worcester City FC would like to thank Worcester Raiders, Worcester FA and WCFC Supporters Trust for organising the event, along with all the volunteers who helped make the day run smoothly.

City Football Secretary Kev Preece said after the game: From our perspective, it was a great evening which was organised brilliantly by all involved. It was a good game of football and the people of our City turned out and showed there is an appetite to bring our club home. We will be looking at holding the fixture with Raiders again in the future, and we wish them all the best for the coming season.

On Wednesday 19th July, City will be visiting Evesham in the Worcestershire Senior Cup Semi-Final at the Jubilee Stadium WR11 2LZ. Kickoff is at 7.45pm
