Midfield man ready to kick-on as we eye a return to winning ways on Saturday...

MIDFIELD man, Nathan Hayward, is confident that City’s defeat at Shawbury United last weekend was just a blip as we prepare to host South Normanton on Saturday (kick-off 3.00pm).
“To say that last Saturday was a disappointment would be a massive understatement,” said the former Stourbridge man who began his career in the Birmingham City youth team. “These things happen in football from time-to-time and the main thing is not to dwell on it too much.
“We have to kick-on, prove that it was just a blip and repay the fans with a winning performance this weekend.
“We’ll certainly go out there with a point to prove on Saturday and I am confident that we’ll get back into winning ways.
“It’s up to us to get back at it and show everyone that we are worthy of being a contender in this League.
“We know that our away form has to improve, but at home we’ve looked good and scored plenty of goals. That winning mentality we have at home needs to be transferred to games on our travels.
“It will come with hard work and determination. There is enough quality in this group and hopefully we’ll be able to get ourselves onto another unbeaten run.”
The summer signing from Malvern Town is happy with his displays in the engine room of the side so far.
“I’ve been reasonably pleased with my own performances,” he added. “Like the rest of the team I had a little blip in the last game but I am enjoying my football and enjoying being part of the club and helping us get back to where we belong.”
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at Saturday’s game to cheer us on...
