Worcester City FC have signed veteran former Jamaican international striker Deon Burton from league rivals Brackley Town on a pay as you play basis.

Burton was with National League side Eastleigh towards the end of last season following his release from Scunthorpe United.

Thirty-eight-year-old Burton played fifty-six times for Jamaica, scoring 12 times and enjoyed five seasons in the Barclays Premier League for Derby County, making 113 appearances and scoring 20 goals.

Burton’s list of other former clubs include Portsmouth, Stoke City, Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton Athletic.

In addition to being registered to play, Deon will be combining his time, assisting the Management Team assisting with first team coaching.
