Snape looking to build on victory in our last game...

CITY will be hoping to get back into action for the first time in three weeks as we play host to Shawbury United on Saturday (kick-off 3.00pm).
Having seen our games at AFC Wulfrunians and Stourport Swifts fall victim of the recent winter weather, our last action came at the end of November with a convincing 4-1 home victory over local rivals, Stourport Swifts.
“We’re chomping at the bit to get back out there,” said joint manager, John Snape. “I was delighted by the way in which we started our last game against Stourport. We came out of the blocks with plenty of positivity and although we dropped off a little as the game went on, we responded well to our visitors pulling a goal back and ended strongly to secure a deserved three points.
“It was a pleasing all-round performance and whilst we were guilty of missing chances, I was pleased with the number of opportunities that we managed to create.
“Our focus now turns to Saturday when we come up against a Shawbury United side that beat us at their place earlier in the season.
“We know their strengths and we know that they will be up for it and in our faces right from the off.
“It is important that we start well and with a good tempo. I want to see us use the ball well and make good decisions, something that we have done for much of the season so far.”
Our opponents find themselves at the foot of the table with just two victories from their 16 League games so far, one of which came against City in October.
Their last League action saw them go down to a 2-0 defeat at Rugby Town.
Since we were last in action, we have been given a boost with the news that popular goalkeeper, Nathan Vaughan, has returned to the club and he will be battling it out with Matt Gwynne for a starting place.
