Hughes looking for us to build on last weekend's win...

CITY have a spring in our step as we prepare to play host to Coventry United at the Victoria Ground on Saturday (kick-off 3.00pm).

An excellent 1-0 win at then League leaders, Coleshill Town, last weekend has left us six points off the lead ahead of a busy run of fixtures.

We face a Coventry United side who sit in the middle of the table, in 12th position. They have six wins from their 11 League games on the road so far, including a 2-0 triumph at Shepshed Dynamo in their last outing.

Joint manager, Lee Hughes, is looking forward to seeing us build on last Saturday’s success against a side that comfortably beat us back in August.

“The result will have sent a message out to the other promotion chasers,” he said. “There are still plenty of points to play for and the League is still wide open for a number of teams.
“It’s whoever can get on a positive run of results and show the required level of consistency.

“The games are going to be coming thick and fast for everyone, so it’s important to have a squad that will be able to cope with the demands, which I believe we have here.
“Our focus has to be on the next game as that is always the most important. Coventry United have fallen away since the opening months of the season, when we were well beaten at their place, but we know that they still possess the quality to cause us problems if we allow them to.

“We have to ensure that we approach the game in the right way and continue to do the things that saw us bring home three points from last weekend’s game.”
