Victory on the road at Quorn...

CITY completed a good 3-0 victory in our penultimate game of the season at Quorn.
It was City who launched first raid to force an early corner which was delivered invitingly by Alex Tomkinson but scrambled clear.
The home side went close when Evans cut inside and saw his low strike well blocked by Przybek as Mark Smith cleared the loose ball.
Some neat play from City saw Turton and Birley link up well before threading through Tomkinson whose progress was halted inside the area as the referee waved away the appeals for a penalty.
We managed to take the lead in the 13th minute when Tomkinson did well out wide on the left before finding Dave Reynolds who fired home.
The ball was zipping around on the artificial surface and youngster, Ryan Mole, did well on a couple of occasions to thwart the home side.
A strike from Birley was saved whilst at the other end, a corner caused problems as Brenan fired over with Przybek out of position.
Gorman headed over for the home side whilst Evans went close as he lifted the ball over Przybek but just wide of the target as our opponents searched for an equaliser as the first half came to a close.
However, just a minute before the break we managed to double our advantage when Baldwin and Tomkinson linked up to carve out a chance for Reynolds who made no mistake as he fired home.
It put us in a strong position going into the second half as we looked to continue where we left off when Reynolds this time turned provider for Tomkinson who went close.
There was a good chance at the other end when Seal got in a strike that was saved by the feet of Przybek.
After Forsyth headed just over from a corner, we made it 3-0 with just under 20 minutes to go when Birley looked to play in Baldwin but as the ‘keeper cleared, the ball fell at the feet of Turton who lifted the ball home from 30 yards.
It was a neat finish and put us well in the driving seat. There was a blow as both Mole and Reynolds were forced out of the action through injury late on as we ran out 3-0 winners.
