Worcester City Join The Likes Of Celtic FC, Premier League & Championship Clubs By Committing To Being #OnTheBall

Through Trust and Club partners, Inclusion In Sport, Worcester City will join the likes of Celtic FC, Wolves and Sheffield Wednesday by providing free women’s sanitary products at home games as part of the On The Ball Campaign. Set up by three female football fans in Scotland in 2018, the On The Ball Campaign works to highlight period poverty as a major issue in society.

On The Ball believes that period products should be readily available and accessible at no cost just like toilet roll or soap. The campaign also aims to tackle the fact that periods are a taboo subject and they should not be. It wants to put periods into the public consciousness and create discussion on menstruation to change social attitudes. Whilst also increasing the visibility of female football fans and to drive football clubs to show they are forward-thinking and inclusive to meet the needs of their supporters.

A representative of the On The Ball Campaign said ‘We are made up that Worcester City have committed to the On The Ball campaign, pledging to provide period products for free for their fans. WCFC is exemplary of what forward-thinking, inclusive football looks like - making them a perfect pairing for On The Ball. We are delighted that the Club have come on board and will be so proud that free period products will just be one feature of a potentially new home ground back home in Worcester for the team. Come on City!’

Worcester City FC and the Supporters’ Trust recognise the value and significance of the On The Ball campaign and are proud to be doing our bit to tackle period poverty. This is a further step in making sure all supporters feel comfortable and catered for when following the City.
