Hereford -v- Worcester City
Another rainy day in Hereford!
Today, Worcester City made the trip to Hereford. The conditions were cold and wet, for some reason it always seems to rain when we go to Hereford!
Q1 – Worcester started in determined fashion and controlled the game from the outset. Worcester were soon 1-0 up when Tristan Webby outpaced the Hereford rightback and delivered a pinpoint cross which was turned in at the near post by Prince Henry. A second goal quickly followed, this time it was Kane Bullock who provided the assist from a free kick which was headed into the corner of the net by Jacob Titheridge. This was a fine header from Jacob. A third and final goal was scored by Prince Henry which was almost a carbon copy of the first goal, after a strong run and cross from Tristan Webby. (0-3)
Q2 – Hereford set up in a far more defensive formation in this quarter which was largely as a result of Worcesters previous dominance. Hereford were now playing on the break and pulled a goal back with a fine individual effort. Worcester went further into the lead after a Kane Bullock corner was headed in at the back post by Joe Palmer. (1-4)
Q3 – Both sides played some good football in the third quarter although at times Worcester found it difficult to play against a side who had set up to frustrate. The only goal of the quarter came following good work on the wing from Tristan Webby (again) whose cross was controlled by Tom Mills in the six yard box and calmly slotted past the onrushing keeper. (1-5)
Q4 – No further goals were added in this quarter although the Hereford keeper did make a number of good saves. (1-5)
This was a stern test today against a resolute Hereford outfit that got numbers behind the ball.
AWARDS : Gold – Prince Henry, Silver – Harry Williams, Bronze – Harvey James
