Worcester City vs RTC North Somerset

Match report by Daren Mills
Today we played North Somerset RTC being Worcesters first game in the new JPL league. It was a cold morning and the pitch was in excellent condition.
Q1 - Worcester started brightly and were unlucky not to be leading after the early exchanges. Olly Berry went close with a shot that went just wide and the keeper also saved well from Tom Mills who went clean through. 0 - 0
Q2 - Worcester made a break through early in the second quarter when Josh Shuck picked the ball up in his own half, played it to Tristan Webby who drove down the wing into the penalty area, angled the ball back through a crowded box to Josh who dispatched a well placed shot into the corner of the net. A really good goal!! Despite dominating proceedings, Worcester were unable to add to their tally although Matty Patrick-Rivers went close on a couple of occasions. 1 - 0
Q3 - Somerset came more into the game in this quarter although the game became a little scrappy with neither side really able to impose themselves with neither defence being overly troubled. 1 - 0
Q4 - The game exploded into life in the fourth quarter with a Somerset equaliser with a shot from the edge of the area which looped over George Bourne in the Worcester goal. The home side seemed to find another gear and with eight minutes to go Tom Mills made a strong run into the area before squaring the ball to Matty Rivers Patrick whose initial shot was well saved but Matty was first to the rebound to bundle the ball over the line. Worcester went close to adding to their tally on a number of occasions towards the end of the game but the game finished 2 1.
We wish North Somerset well for the rest of the season.
