Worcester City u12's hosted Herefordshire RTC at Perdiswell in their season opener.
City started brightly moving the ball around with confidence and looking dangerous which led to them taking an early lead via a fantastic curled effort from Lucas Colley. Hereford were soon back in the game though and levelling the score. This brought the City boys back to life and a quick fire hat-trick from man of the match Bora Sahingoz extended the lead to 4-1 by the end of the 1st quarter.
The second quarter finished with 1 goal for each team with Jared Humphrys tapping in from close range early in the quarter for City. City played well throughout this quarter but Hereford were coming back strong and starting to get a foothold in the game, a couple of fantastic saves from keeper Ethan Bowley kept the City lead in place.
The 2nd half was more challenging for City as Hereford tried to claw themselves back into the game, a goal early in the 3rd quarter set up a tense last quarter however a 2nd from Lucas Colley eased the pressure slightly, Hereford scored again and then forced a penalty in the latter moments of the game.
Keeper Joe Tipper made a fantastic save to ensure the City lead remained in tact and the 3 points secured.
