Worcester take on a strong Alvechurch

Worcester City started very bright and created two very good opportunities early on with Jake finding Ashton who crossed from the right of the box for Tyrese who failed to hit the target. Tyrese went through again and did well under pressure but was unlucky not to score through some last ditch defending. The game was going Worcester’s way until they got caught against the run of play and Alvechurch scored through a follow up after they hit the crossbar. Worcester’s heads never dropped and again Tyrese went through and was upended on the edge of the box, Liam’s quick thinking to take the free kick early was rewarded with the equaliser.
The game was now a much more even affair with both sides having chances Alvechurch took the lead again after a goal keeping error from Zac. Zac soon made up for his mistake with a couple of smart saves.
Worcester were getting back on top of the game and went close through Ashton and Tyrese. Alvechurch now with their backs to the wall we’re hitting Worcester on the break but never really tested the goal keeper.
Worcester were again looking the most likely to score and the equaliser came when Josh played a smart cross for Jake to finish with a well timed run. Alvechurch had a chance late on but the golden chance fell to Tyrese who went through with only the goal keeper to beat, who saved well.
A good test for Worcester after coming off the back of some miss-matched opposition.
