Mark Danks is glad to be back at the City...

Ahead of City's visit to Shawbury United, we spoke to Mark Danks, who is almost as quick witted as he is quick footed!

So Danksy, you're back at the club and scoring for fun - do you think it's a case of third time's the charm?

Well I hope so but didn't think I did too bad the past two times I was here either! It helps playing with the players that I do, and the gaffas know how to manage me. It's been a good start, but it's a long season.

What was it that made you decide to rejoin Worcester this time around?

I guess I have a love for the club and from the times I played before, plus the fans have always been great irregardless of what league Worcester are in.
It was just nice to sign for the club - after playing for Lye town last season, I didn't feel I was good enough for them.

You've certainly silenced your doubters so far this season scoring 8 in 10 league games - Do you have a target in mind for the campaign?

Well I see it as 8 goals in 7 starts lol!
I will always have doubters, but it can't be ignored my ability to bounce back especially after last season where I couldn't get a start even ahead of a defender at lye! My aim for the season realistically is to win the league and contribute all over with goals, assists and to share my experience... but to be top scorer in the league is my own aim.

Alongside you up front for City is Dave Reynolds, who scored over 50 goals last season. Do you think you work well together as a strike force?

I think it's developing, and I don't think teams will like to face us as we certainly pose a goal threat. Dave is a very gifted, natural finisher and is learning the level still, so we will only get better - we just need to maybe link up more and occasionally he may want to set me up for a change! Haha! He's a great guy!

I have to ask it - who will get more goals over the season, yourself or Reyno?

My answer is who ever stays fit and in form.
I don't mind coming a close second if my overall performances are high, however it's great that we will push each other to keep scoring. He passed me in terms of goals scored last week, which has made me approach this weeks game against Shawbury even more focused.
Let's not a forget Lee Hughes who when fit will be in the mix, and I'm told he knows where the net is too!

Cheers Danksy, and best of luck against Shawbury United
