City capitalise on chances created against Coton Green
By NIGEL UPSON
City Reserves come out on top in a difficult game against Coton Green with great second half display.
City took the initiative against Coton Green early on and created several chances. CG were certainly up for the game and had their own forages into the City half but Dayus in goal, Harper, Upson, LePoidevin and Patey at the back were strong and organised.
City's midfield of Allen, Keasey and Gabriel were dominant and with Owusu, Shah and Moran in determined form a goal looked like it was coming.
After several chances went begging, Allen and Gabriel set up Owusu who made no mistake for 1.0 and after Dayus made a great save at the other end, it stayed that way until HT.
City came out with desire in the second half and on the front foot.
Gabriel combined with Keasey with clever play and Keasey tapped home for 2.0 and when Keasey scored again after combing with Moran at 3.0 the game looked beyond the visitors.
Simpson came on up top and Mole at the back and City's dominance continued.
A great team move found Shah and he cut in on the right to fire home for 4.0 and it wasn't long before Upson stepped forward and set up Shah again for him to set up Moran for City's 5th. At 5.0 City continued to push forward and after another fine team move Owusu neatly slotted his second and it was a resounding 6.0 to City.
CG were organised and hard working and robust and City had to continue to play fast paced football to create their opportunities as well as take them. A good team performance today and a deserved victory.
