Match Report from Paulton DC
Saturday 1st October seen a long journey for Worcester down the M5 to visit Paulton Rovers for this cup fixture.
Paulton had no idea how this would go as we had not had any dealings with Worcester until now.
The game was played in great spirit and was end to end for the whole time.
Both sets of players were a credit to their teams as the disceplin and professionalism of each player was impeccable.
Paulton took the lead with a goal from Jack parsons on 10 minutes.
The visitors equalised following 3 consecutive corners and Paulton could not clear the pressure - 1-1.
On 20 minutes, Jack Parsons got his second of the day after a great through ball from Owen Naylor to Ieuan George and Ieuans strength held off the Worcester defence to get a cross in to JP.
Worcester hit back on 33 minutes to level it up for half time.
The second half was played with the same conviction from both teams, City took advantage of the Paulton lads not tracking their men and took the lead on 36 minutes.
Rovers hit back on 41 minutes with Ieuan streaking through to get himself a goal.
Jack parsons completed his hat trick on 45 minutes when he got on the end of a Sam Stratford cross which gave Rovers the lead.
Worcester would not be beaten, they came back just 3 minutes later to equalise.
only a few minutes remaining and extra time looming, Paulton kept up the pressure and were fighting for the first win of this season, Lewis Dowling pulled off 2 double saves from the Worcester attack and sent the ball up field, Kevin got on the end of the move and neatly tucked away the winner.
