It turned out to be a year to remember for City fans but 12 months ago it didn't start that way! This is our quick look back on 2014
January
It didn't get off to the best of starts with City at the bottom end of the table and our first game of the New Year ended in a 6-1 defeat at Bradford Park Avenue.
That was turned around in a few short weeks with the arrival of Jamie Grimes on loan from Kidderminster Harriers who was joined by Aaron Brown and Kristian Ramsey-Dixon. A 2-1 away win at Histon was followed up by 2-1 wins over Colwyn Bay and away high flying Altrincham - which produced City's goal of the Season scored by Daniel Nti.
A 1-0 loss at a bitterly cold Vauxhall Motors preceded a 3-1 home win against Solihull Moors leaving City with four wins out of six for the month.
February
There were only three games in February due to the weather and the good form continued with an impressive 1-0 win away at Guiseley. The other two games ended in a 0-1 home loss to Telford United (which ended up being the only loss of 2014 in the League) and another close game at Gainsborough Trinity which ended in a 2-1 loss. Jamie Grimes' loan spell ended earlier in the month and he returned to a regular start at Harriers.
March
Was a mixed bag which saw the double completed over Stalybridge Celtic with Wayne Thomas making his debut & Ryan Boot return in goal on loan after Jose Viega was ruled out injured. A 1-0 win over Barrow was followed by another close game at North Ferriby which ended in a 2-1 loss. We went out of the Worcestershire Senior Cup with a young side at Redditch United. City's Home Banker of the highest crowd of the season against Stockport County which was postponed due to the weather ended up being one of the lowest crowds of the season on a cold Tuesday night & ended in a 0-0 draw.
April
The final month of the season saw a mixed bag of performances. A disappointing 1-0 loss at Leamington was followed up by the double completed over Barrow with a 1-0 win. The long trip to Workington ended in another 1-0 defeat and on easter Monday the final away game of the season ended in a 4-0 loss at Hednesford Town.

October
City had still failed to score in any of the previous six away games so far. That drought was to end in emphatic style with George Williams breaking the deadlock with a thunderbolt at Gainsborough Trinity and a 2-1 win.
The Third Qualifying Round of the FA Cup saw City drawn away at Leamington. A good City following saw a 1-1 draw. It was only going to get better though with Sean Geddes giving City a 2-0 lead and to start "Pandemonium at The Ricoh"! Coventry pulled one back but even with 7 minutes of added time were unable to draw level. City players and Fans joined together to celebrate like never before in the first ever away win for the Club against a League Side! and to thoroughly deserve the tag of Giant Killers!
