Since embarking on the journey into fan-ownership, the Football Club has endeavoured to engage with all facets of the community. The women’s game presents an enormous opportunity to embrace more women and girls who play and follow football into the Worcester City family.

Women's sport is thriving in Worcester, through netball, basketball and rugby, now it's time for Worcester City Women Football Club to step up and empower women and girls across the region through the power of football.

To enable us to achieve our vision for women’s football, a newly set up company, Worcester City Women FC Ltd, will administer all women’s teams from aged 16+, and will work side by side with the WCFC youth development structure for aged 16 and below, to ensure a transparent pathway for young girls and women. The board of Worcester City Women FC will compromise of Nicole Allison and Mark Howard, both of whom have strong experience in the women’s football industry, in addition to WCFC Chairman Steve Goode and Director Luke Cox.

From Worcester originally, Nicole has extensive experience working in both men’s and women’s football with players, clubs, rights holders, and agencies. After completing an MSc in Football Business, she worked at the English Football League and Tottenham Hotspur Women as General Manager during a period which saw the club be promoted to the professional FA Women’s Super League.

Nicole assisted by Mark will lead the growth of Worcester City Women FC in building a player-centred pathway for young girls all the way through to the first team, and create a sustainable business model with fans at the core. Steve and Luke will support these activities by engraining a ‘One Club’ approach and consistency across men’s and women’s football.

On beginning the new era, Nicole Allison said, “We want to inspire positive change for women and girls through the power of football, and ensure we build and develop a sustainable club that is for everyone. Our vision for this club is ambitious, we want to be a top women’s football club in this country. But we recognise that football is not just about winning, it’s more than a game and we are more than a football club. We want to ensure we are an asset to our community and have a far-reaching social impact.”

Mark Howard added “Nicole and I have known each other since her time at Tottenham Hotspur Women. Since then, we have been looking for the right opportunity to channel our passion and business expertise to develop women’s football. With Nicole being from Worcester, WCFC seemed an obvious choice. After speaking with Luke, Steve and the board and hearing the club’s plans and their desire to re-imagine the women’s teams as a pivotal element of the Worcester City family, we knew we’d found our club”.

Football Club Director Luke Cox said “Nicole and Mark understand what we are working to build here, our values and vision for an inclusive football club that competes sustainably, develops future local talent and is valued within its community. Since we began discussions last summer, we’ve been on the same page all the way. This new structure will allow us to channel new resources and expertise into the women’s team without detracting from the progression of men’s football. As far as we are concerned, we want every Worcester City team to have every opportunity for success. Having both competitive men’s and women’s teams will only strengthen the entire football club as a whole. We really hope that supporters and the city of Worcester will get behind the women’s team as we begin this exciting new journey”.
