Statement from Worcester City Football Club

Following a meeting held tonight, Worcester City Football Club can confirm that Tim Harris has resigned as first team manager with immediate effect.

We can confirm that Stewart Watkins (Head of Football Development) and Craig Jones (Player Coach and Captain) will look after first-team matters in the interim.

A message from Tim –

“Firstly, I would like to thank the many messages of support I have had in the last couple of days, especially with what has been a very difficult period for the club on the field.

"As manager, I must take full responsibility for the teams’ performances and lack of results, whatever anyone says, the buck stops with the manager. On this basis, I felt it was right to tender my resignation as first team manager of Worcester City Football Club with immediate effect.

"I have spoken to the board of directors and have a great desire to help drive Worcester City FC forward off the field, I am willing to put time and effort in to making this happen and believe I can positively help the Club move forward.

"To assist the club in the interim I am pleased that Stewart Watkins and Craig Jones will look after first-team matters until a new appointment is made.”

The board would like to place on record its thanks to Tim and his staff for all of their efforts whilst at the football club and we look forward to working with Tim in the future.

The process of appointing a new manager is now underway.
