"This will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the community going forward"

In partnership with Worcester City Council, Worcester Community Trust, Freedom Leisure and Matt Tally Player Development, The Club hosted a Half-Term Football Project Pilot at the Warndon Hub, with great engagement from young people in the community.

Across the two fantastic sessions, 28 participants attended, representing a mix of ages, primarily between 12-15 years old, and included both male and female players. Notably, five participants returned for the second session after attending the first, showing strong interest in the program.

Feedback from Young People:

  • "Coaches were easy to get on with—friendly and enthusiastic."
  • "Loved it! Don’t usually have anything to do."
  • "Excellent engagement from coaches."
  • "Good music, good football, coaches were great!"
  • "Really fun! Good for my practice as I don’t get to play football much."
  • "When is it on again?"
  • "Is this coming back again?"
  • "Loved having something to do in the half-term!"

Feedback from Coaches:

  • "Would really like to see this in other areas of the city."
  • "The turnout was brilliant considering the weather. It was a pleasure to be a part of and hopefully the kids had as much fun as we did.
  • "It is truly remarkable to provide all children with equal opportunities that we consistently offer. This will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the community going forward, thanks to the strong relationships we have built in just 90 minutes of interaction. I am proud to be a part of this incredible project."

The positive feedback from both participants and coaches highlights the impact of this initiative, reinforcing the need for similar opportunities across the city. The Club looks forward to bringing more sessions to the community in the future.
