"All things WCFC Youth from last weekend"

A busy week for the Under 18s who played three matches and scored what could arguably be Worcester City Youth's goal of the season.

Harvey Osbourne netted twice in a 4-3 friendly win over a Solihull Academy side featuring a number of players recently released by football league academies - one of his strikes a cool lob from inside the centre circle. Reece Day and Under 16 Jesse Asomugha were also on the scoresheet.

Another friendly outing versus Hereford at Wellington FC featured several Under 16s including goalkeeper Josh Reed-Jones, who saved a penalty but couldn't prevent his side losing 0-3. There was a narrow defeat as City exited the JPL Cup against Kidderminster Harriers by 2-3 with Harvey Osbourne on target once again as well as Charlie Muir.

Harriers were also the opposition for two of the younger age groups too - the Under 8s and Under 9 Blues, who fielded a trio of Under 8s as part of their development. And another Under 8 played up for the Under 9 Whites in their fixture with Stoke RTC.

In competitive Nerf Junior Premier League fixtures, both Under 12 teams were beaten at Perdiswell - Ben Francis hitting a beauty and Tom Rebbeck grabbing the second for the Blues in a 2-4 loss to Solihull Academy and Ruben Stenson scoring a consolation for the Whites in a 1-6 defeat to South Staffordshire RTC.

The Under 11s delivered a superb display against Kidderminster Athletic Eagles in the Mercian Football League, where at Under 13, Levi Adusei-Hillel converted a spectacular 30-yard free-kick for the only goal of the game versus Wilden Village Youth.

In the Midland Football League, City's Reserves kept a clean sheet and took a useful point from their clash with second-placed Stratford Town.

Several sides arranged friendly matches to keep their squads ticking over ahead of their final league and cup fixtures.

Kacey Kirkpatrick scored for the Under 13 Lionesses who gave a very good account of themselves against Droitwich Spa Under 14s despite going down 1-3.

The Under 13s beat Berkswich 2-0, thanks to an Oscar Hanbury double. There was a brace too for Karan Purewell in a 4-3 victory for the Under 15s over Solihull Academy, where Lucas Colley and Danish Sharma also found the net.
