"All things City Youth"

The future looks bright for Worcester City Youth after its youngest age group won the Nerf Junior Premier League Spring Championship.

City's Under 8s travelled down to Rectory Park in Middlesex, where they beat Forza Bradford 10-2.

Commenting on the win and his squad's progression, manager Lewis Osman-Moore said: "I'm massively proud of the team this season - we have continuously improved throughout the year and it was amazing for the boys to win a trophy.

"We had a slow start but that was only to be expected being a brand new team which had just been formed but the boys have always played with smiles on their faces, improved game by game and produced some fantastic football along the way," he added. "It was brilliant for them to lift a trophy and to see how much it meant to them. As a coach, I couldn't ask for any more and I can't wait for next season to help them further develop."

At the opposite end of the Worcester City Youth age groups, there was another impressive result - this time for the Reserves, who rounded off their Midland Football League season in style with an emphatic 5-0 triumph at Gresley Rovers.

The result was never in doubt after City hit their opponents with a four-goal first-half blitz. Goals from Jack Ricketts, Andy Rhodes, Adam Turner, Callum Briggs and George Jelley secured a seventh place finish for their side.

Busiest team of the week was Worcester City Under 13 Girls, who played twice in the Mercian Football League.

Strikes from Belle Gough and player-of-the-match Ellie Brooks gave them a 2-1 win over Catshill Girls. On Tuesday evening, they then lost by the odd goal in three versus Evesham United Panthers as Ruby Craythorne found the net.

The Under 13 Boys earned a share of the spoils as they held league leaders, Nunnery Wood Colts Hornets, to a 1-1 draw with Cameron Elton grabbing City's goal.

The only other competitive games of the weekend saw the Under 11 Girls return to action for the first time in three weeks at Evesham United and their male counterparts take on Malvern Lions. In the Stourbridge & District Youth League, Trysull provided the opposition for the Under 10s on Sunday.

In friendlies, a mixed Under 9s side met Malvern Colts Under 10s. City Lionesses U13s beat an Inkberrow Under 12s team 6-3 as Kacey Kirkpatrick and Melody Blake both netted twice with Tori Milner and Maya Pawley also on target.
