News from across our Junior Teams

Whilst results may not have all gone our way, it was another positive weekend for player development for Worcester City Youth with 16 out of 19 teams in action from the Under 8s up to the Reserves.

There were some superb displays in the Nerf Junior Premier League from the likes of the Under 8s versus South Staffordshire RTC and the Under 10s against Aston Villa Girls but undoubtedly the result of the weekend went to the Under 13 Boys Mercian League side. They beat Wyre Forest Phoenix 14-0 with Cameron Elton and Fin Parker grabbing hat-tricks to add to further goals from Oliver Bousfield (2), George Heywood (2), Reggie Perks, Dylan Sivarahan, Levi Adusei-Hillel and an own-goal.

Some revenge for Wyre Forest though as they collected a 2-0 win in their Under 13 Mercian League match with City Girls.

City Youth boasts two teams at Under 9, Under 11 and Under 12 age groups and all took to the field.

Halesowen Town and South Staffordshire RTC provided the opposition for the youngest sides as the Under 11 Boys and Girls met Welland and Kingfisher respectively.

The Under 12 Blues won 4-3 at Stoke RTC - a performance described as "immense" by their manager - as strikes from Tom Connor, Tom Rebbeck, Ben Francis and an own-goal gave them a thrilling victory. Their counterparts, the Whites, shipped four goals during the first half of their game with Banbury United and, although they eventually lost 1-5, a much improved showing in the second half of the contest was rewarded with Ruben Cooper-Stenson getting on the scoresheet.

At the upper end of the Club's player pathway, both the Under 18 JPL and Reserves sides suffered 0-3 losses to Oxford City and Redditch United respectively.

The weekend's remaining three JPL fixtures between City and Stourbridge all went the way of the Glassboys.

City's Under 13s were beaten 0-3, whilst Ashton Doyle was on the mark in a 1-4 defeat for the Under 14s. The Under 15s grew into their away game as they pulled two goals back through a Tino Shumba penalty and Fin Skidmore after falling 0-3 behind before a late breakaway effort from the hosts ended the contest 2-4.

Finally, on Sunday, the Under 10s were pitched against Trysull in the Stourbridge & District Youth Football League.
