Worcester City FC is pleased to confirm a number of developments to strengthen the club’s Girls Pathway ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Expanded Pathway
Next season will see the introduction of a new Under 10s girls team and an Under 18s side, further strengthening the pathway from junior to senior football. All players will have a clear route into the Worcester City Lionesses at open-age level.
Lionesses Management Update
Steve Birmingham and Matt Tally will be appointed as Manager and Head Coach of the Worcester City Lionesses ahead of next season. Their experience will support the continued development of players progressing into senior football.
Coaching Development
From next season, players aged 16+ will be supported in gaining coaching qualifications and offered opportunities to work with younger age groups.
Training Structure
Where possible, girls’ teams, particularly at Under 15 level and above, will train on the same evening. Players will also have opportunities to train alongside the Lionesses to support progression.
Matchday Venue
Archdales will become the primary home for Worcester City girls’ 11-a-side teams. At least one girls’ fixture will be played there each week, with the Lionesses playing home games on Sundays at 2pm.
Community and Development
The club will continue to build a positive and inclusive environment across the Girls Pathway, with increased opportunities for players to connect both on and off the pitch. Further events and initiatives will be introduced throughout the season.
Get Involved
Worcester City welcomes players of all ages and abilities, as well as coaches and volunteers who want to be part of the club’s growing girls’ section.
