Worcester City Football Club are delighted to announce the addition of a new development side next season and with it, a new manager.

The team is another vital part in our player pathway from youth to first team football and replaces our previous reserve team.

The team will have young players from 18 - 23 with some experienced players mixed in and will be headed up by Richard Bray as manager. Sean McGregor and Chris Emms will also be part of the new set up, both were involved in our under 18's side from last season.

Rich joins us from Malvern Town where he has been managing for the last 5 years within the development section.

On joining the Club, Rich said

'I'm really pleased and I was honoured when Chris asked me to come over. Ive been at Malvern for the last five years but to get the chance to be part of my hometown club, what Chris and Worcester City are planning, was too good an offer to turn down.

"I've got good friends and players within the club already, some that I've previously managed including the gaffer. It's an easy transition although I think the hardest part at the moment will be trying to stop Chris knocking on my door for the occasional game.'

On our pathway being extended, first team manager, Chris Cornes said
"I’m absolutely delighted to get Rich on board with us. He’s a very good manager and has a proven record of developing players. Rich is very aligned to mine and the club's vision of how we want the pathway to progress.

"This is crucial to the future of the Club, and with the personnel we now have in place from top to bottom. I’ve have no doubt it will enable the club to continue to grow from strength to strength.

Although it is a little early to confirm what league we will be in next season, we want to reiterate that this team will be playing at a good level of mens football. A number of league AGMs take place over the coming weeks, where we hope to be able to confirm the league that the side will be playing in.

Our development side will be playing games at Claines Lane when the first team are away.
