Worcester City FC have donated £400 to Christopher Whitehead Language College’s fundraiser to manufacturer PPE face masks for the NHS.

Over £5,000 has been raised by the school’s DT Department so far. The masks are made using a laser cutter owned by the school and the funds raised are used to buy the materials needed. The masks made will be given to Acorns Children’s Hospice as well as Worcester Royal Hospital.

The Football Club would like to encourage all supporters who are in a position to do so to donate to the fundraiser too.

On donating to the fundraiser, Chairman Steve Goode said “We are well aware of the many selfless gestures made by the people of Worcester since the Covid-19 pandemic hit locally. I am sure everyone will agree that despite the pain caused and severe disruption to daily life, it has been truly heartwarming to see the sense of community and solidarity in our city.

We have been discussing at Board level how we as the city’s football club can do our bit to help alleviate the strain the pandemic is having on our community.

Upon hearing about the work being carried out by Christopher Whitehead, the Board unanimously agreed to donating to the fundraiser.

I would also like to personally encourage all City fans who are in the position to give what they can.

Christopher Whitehead Language College and all involved deserve so much praise for using their initiative to bring this to fruition to help support vital local services during these difficult times.”
