It was a bright start for City, dominating the early proceedings, and they will have felt frustrated at the non-awarding of a penalty after Dylan Hart was bundled to the ground, moments before Levi Steele was on point to score for the hosts on a lethal counter attack on the half hour mark.

Evesham doubled their lead 10 minutes after the break. Owens worked the ball across the box from the City right, finding ex-City midfielder Ethan Moran, who drove it low past Haydn Whitcombe.

City made a raft of changes on 60 and 70 minutes, making use of the bolstered numbers on the subs bench.

Steele then wrapped up the tie in the 77th minute as Flowers and Whitcombe got mixed up, leaving the Evesham striker to drill the ball home from the edge of the box.

The Blue And Whites move on to their final pre-season test on Saturday with a trip to Wimborne Town of Step 4, before the Hellenic League season kicks off on Tuesday evening.
