Spencer is formerly of Gloucester City AFC, where he made nearly 150 appearances between 2014 and 2020, and was also the club's captain during that period. Spencer then moved on to Chippenham Town before returning to Gloucester City for the 2023/2024 season under Tim Flowers, from which he left in May 2025.

On securing his services, Chris Cornes said “Spencer is a dominant no-nonsense centre back and is very experienced, and a player I am very happy to be adding to the squad.

"Having played most of his football at a higher level, his experience and his leadership qualities will be needed throughout this season on and off the pitch.”
