Hartley, Hayward and Lockett are in!

Lee Jackson3 Jul - 12:30

Trio agree terms for 2025/26

We can announce a further three retentions ahead of tonight's friendly away at Bewdley Town.

Nathan Hayward, Liam Lockett, and Elliott Hartley have all agreed to terms to stay at the Club for 2025/2026.

All three players have a long-standing association with the football club, spanning from their youth teams to the first team.

Last season, Elliott made 43 appearances, scoring 9 goals, one of which came minutes into the playoff semi-final, with a brilliant header. Liam made 42 appearances, bagging himself 10 goals, whilst Nathan made 28 appearances, adding that midfield steel we all know and love.

On securing all three, Chris Cornes said, "Nathan had a couple of injuries that disrupted his season, but we are a more solid side with him in it. It was an easy conversation for both of us to retain him. He’s a Worcester lad, and I know how much it means to him to be at the Club and play a part in the promotion last season.

"With Elliott, too, this was an easy conversation for us. He loves the Club and is now the longest-serving member of the squad. He is a great lad and has played a huge part in the Club's fortunes over the past few seasons, with the relegation battle on to back-to-back promotions. I am happy to have retained his services.

"Liam is a brilliant player with bags of ability, who came through the Club's youth team, so it’s brilliant to have retained him. He had a bit of a hit-and-miss season, which probably didn’t help either with the change in formation. He wanted to stay at the Club and be a part of what we are trying to achieve, and we wanted to retain him."

We wish all three players the very best of luck for the season ahead.
