Emirates FA Cup Action Tonight

Worcester City make the trip to Chasetown tonight for an Emirates FA Cup First Qualifying Round Replay, with kick-off at 7.45pm at The Scholars Ground.

The two sides couldn’t be separated at Sixways on Saturday, where Liam Lockett’s first-half strike was cancelled out by a second-half equaliser from the visitors, forcing a replay under the lights. The prize for the winners is a home tie against Banbury United in the next round.

City will be hopeful that goalkeeper Jack Thompson will be fit and able after suffering a substantial tongue injury at the weekend, while striker Zac Guinan was substituted as a precaution after feeling tightness in his legs.

Chasetown have looked solid so far this season, particularly at the back — they are yet to concede a goal on home turf, and City know they will need to be sharp to break that record.

The fixture also revives memories of a past FA Cup meeting between the clubs. The last time City visited The Scholars Ground was back in 2017, when City fell to a 2-0 replay defeat, thanks to goals from Will Whieldon and Muzzy Nduna. The first tie had also finished 1-1, in a fiery contest where both sides had a player sent off.
