Worcester City travel to Farley Way tomorrow for a Southern League Premier Central clash with Quorn, looking to build on a dramatic point picked up last time out.
The sides know each other well, having been promoted alongside one another last season. Their first meeting this campaign came on the opening day, when City were edged out 1-0 by a late Quorn goal.
Quorn currently sit third in the table on 40 points and come into the game in strong form, unbeaten in their last five league matches. That run includes four wins, with their most recent outing seeing them secure a 3-2 home victory over Redditch United.
City arrive ninth in the standings on 31 points, fresh from a remarkable 2-2 draw away at league leaders Spalding United. Reduced to ten men, City showed real character to equalise in the 97th minute through Connor Stanley and take a deserved share of the points.
Recent weeks have been challenging for the Blue and Whites, with one win, one draw and three defeats in the last five league games. However, there have been positive developments off the pitch, with new signings Charlie Lutz and Luke Rowe coming into the squad.
There have also been a number of departures, with Jordan Lymn, Spencer Hamilton and Haydn Whitcombe all moving on in recent weeks.
Tomorrow presents another tough test against a side flying high, but City will take confidence from their resilience shown at Spalding and will be aiming to close the gap on the teams above them.
Saturday's game will see a “Teddy Toss” Christmas Charity Collection at the Stotto Stadium, on behalf of Quorn's charity partner Menphys.
Supporters from both sets of clubs will be encouraged to bring a new soft toy, or Christmas gift, and toss them onto the pitch at half-time. All donated toys will be collected and distributed to Menphys who are a local charity working with children, and their families, with disabilities in time for Christmas.
