Worcester City return to Sixways on Saturday as they host Bishop’s Stortford in Southern League Premier Central action, looking to bounce back from Tuesday’s narrow defeat at Stratford Town.
It’s set to be a special afternoon both on and off the pitch, as the Club proudly supports Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven as part of Pink October 2025.
The Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven is the only breast cancer charity in the county, dedicated to supporting local patients through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Now in its ninth year, the charity continues the incredible work that began with the campaign to build the county’s Breast Unit – a £1.5 million project that created a welcoming and supportive space for patients at a difficult time.
Since opening, the Unit has cared for more than 15,000 women and over 2,000 men, providing both medical and emotional support beyond what the NHS can offer. Recent projects funded by the charity include a dedicated metastatic Breast Care Nurse, complementary therapies such as massage and acupuncture, chemotherapy care packs, and wellbeing sessions including mindfulness and Pink Ribbon Pilates.
As an independent charity, Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven must raise £250,000 each year to continue its vital work. Supporters can donate throughout Pink October via JustGiving.

On the Pitch
City will be hoping to turn strong performances into points, with Chris Cornes’ side still searching for their first home league win of the campaign. Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat at Stratford was a frustrating affair, and the team will look to put it behind them and push on this weekend.
In team news, Kieron Dawes departed the Club on Thursday morning in search of new opportunities, while Haydn Whitcombe and Spencer Hamilton continue their recovery from injury. Musa Ceesay is also working his way back to a return, and Izak Reid’s long recovery from a knee injury looks close to completion. Josh Bailey is expected to return to the squad after illness, and Charlie Wise will be pushing for a place following his first start of the season on Tuesday.
Saturday’s visitors, Bishop’s Stortford, have made a strong start to life in the Southern League Premier Central, sitting 4th in the table. Their six wins so far have come against Bromsgrove, Sudbury, Stamford, Royston, Needham and Redditch, though they have also come undone against Spalding, Kettering, Stourbridge and Leiston.
With both sides eager to respond to midweek defeats and a fantastic local cause being supported, Saturday promises to be an afternoon to remember at Sixways.
