We are pleased to announce that Reece Day will make the step up from our U18's to First Team during the 2023/2024 Season.

The youngster impressed a number of times last season and is one that manager, Chris Cornes was keeping an eye on.

On bringing through another young talent, Chris Cornes said "Reece was a stand out player last season with the Under 18’s but didn’t get any reserve team football at the club so played elsewhere.

"I spoke to him after the Under 18’s cup final win and said I wanted him to come back to us for next season and let’s see where it takes him.

"Just like James Batchelor, he’s got a bright future and now it’s down to myself and my team to nurture him and help him develop.

"At the club, I’m trying to create a clear pathway from youth football to the first team. Players like Reece and James are testament to that, and I hope the youth players are now seeing that there will be opportunities at this football club for them."

On making the step up, Reece said "I’m grateful for the club to give me an opportunity and allow a pathway for me, as I have been here since u14. As a Worcester lad, it’s nice to have the opportunity to play for the club. When having a chat with the gaffer, he’s got a good plan for the upcoming season which enticed me more to sign."

We have further news on departures of some of last seasons squad. Dom Hill, Connor Jakeways and Joe Hunt will all be moving on and we wish them all the best for the future.
