He has rejoined as Head Coach to our Reserves and Under 18 Midland Floodlit Youth League sides and will work alongside the squads' recently-appointed new manager Steve Humphrys, who has stepped up from his role last season.
Andy has managed and coached in youth football after an extensive playing career at semi-pro level with Andover FC, Salisbury City, Newbury Town, Romsey Town, Andover New Street, Whitchurch United. His previous stint with City saw him coach the Under 18s two years ago.
"I'm very pleased to be involved with Worcester City again and to be part of the team," said Andy. "These are really exciting times for the Club as it pushes forward in this new period and I hope I can play my part in helping us get back to where we're striving to be."
As and when football resumes, the Reserves will continue in the Total Motion Midland Football League but will have an even more pivotal role in bridging the gap with the First Team. With no Under 21s squad next season, there will be renewed focus on our Reserves set-up and the development of players within it in order to strengthen the pathway into the First Team.
"Work is ongoing with a three-year strategy to improve the overall structure within the Youth Section and ensure a progressive plan across all ages groups, but in particular from U16s through to U18s, U21s and Reserves to cover all aspect of player development linking through to the First Team," explained Mark Wilcox, Worcester City Youth's Chairman.
"Steve Humphrys has proved to be a great asset for the Club and he deserves the opportunity to continue working with the lads that have been with him in the U18s and U21s," he added. "It's fantastic to bring Andy back onboard to work alongside Steve to oversee a talented pool of players and help them make the next step with their development with Worcester City."
