"Updated on Injuries within squad"

We bring you the below update on the squad as it currently stands.

Firstly, Dan Westwood has gone out on a 1 month loan to OJM Black Country in a bid to continue his fitness build up following his earlier injury this season, we are pleased to say Dan scored twice on his debut at the weekend.

Club Captain, Craig Jones continues on his road to recovery playing 45 minutes for the Reserves in a friendly at the weekend. We are hopeful that Craig will be available for selection in the coming weeks.

Billy Shaw had missed three weeks due to a back and muscle strain. He started against Shifnal and had no issues. He went to see a specialist last Tuesday for a check up where they found an underlying problem that needs rest, we are hopeful he will be out for no longer than a month.

Will Gibbons was withdrawn at half time against Uttoxeter as he was struggling to breathe, he has picked up a virus (not covid) and we are hopeful he will available for the weekend.

There are long term injuries to mention also with Bobbie Dale, Josh Schuck and Jake Whitehouse all at varying stages of their recoveries. Further news on the three will be out later this week.

Tim had the below to say "With Dan Westwood out on loan and Will Gibbons due to miss a few games we are taking a look at Forward, Chinedu Osadebe. Chin who has recently moved to the area has had a few games with Banbury United and scored a couple of goals.

We are also looking at signing another striker so fingers crossed this will help our current predicament in front of goal.

As far as recent performances have gone we have struggled on all levels, we have a mountain to climb. The squad is young and stretched to the limits and whatever happens we will undoubtably have learned from this sticky patch.

When I look back we have come a long way and if you think it’s all over this season then so be it. All I will say is as a group and as a Club, we know we have made it extremely difficult but at this stage I wouldn’t bet against us fighting it out for that 2nd place".

City travel to Kidderminster Harriers tonight in the Senior Invitational Cup - Semi Final, full details can be found HERE.
