*MATCH REPORTS WEEKEND 12/10/24*

Worcester City U12 Blues 4-10 Rushden and Diamonds u12

Worcester City U12 Blues faced a challenging start to their league campaign with a 10-4 loss to Rushden and Diamonds. Missing three defenders, the team had to adapt, fielding players in unfamiliar positions, which left them vulnerable to counterattacks despite moments of impressive play.
There were positive moments for the Blues, with Adam scoring on his debut, Olly contributing two goals and two assists, and Barney also finding the net.
Man of the Match (MoM) honours went to Alfie, who played out of position as a forward, working tirelessly to press the opposition, hold up play, and link up with his teammates. Parents’ Player of the Match was awarded to Seth, who shored up the defence when he dropped into the centre-back role. Special mention went to Pacey, who showed versatility, playing in several positions throughout the match.

U15 Boys
The U15s faced an uphill battle against an undefeated Kidderminster Harriers Performance side, falling 7-1. The Harriers’ aggression and intensity proved too much in the first half, with Worcester City going into halftime down 5-0.
The team regrouped in the second half, playing much better and creating some excellent passages of play. Jensen Otun stood out with a solid performance, but the damage was already done.

U8s
With no league fixture, the U8s played a friendly against Walsall and delivered a dominant performance, scoring over 13 goals. This was their first experience of cage football, and they rose to the occasion with a physical display. Three players were invited into the academy following the match, highlighting the talent on display. Player of the Match went to George Gorman.

U9s SDYFL
The U9s continued their unbeaten run with a strong showing against Trysall Tigers. City got off to a flying start, scoring within the first minute. In a physical first half, they matched their opponents, and in the second half, the boys began to showcase their footballing ability, eventually running out comfortable winners.

U15 Girls
The U15 girls traveled to Portishead and delivered an emphatic 6-0 victory. They took control of the game in the first half, leading 2-0 at the break, before hitting top gear in the second half, with Daiz scoring four goals. It was a complete team performance, with every player contributing. Special credit was given to Portishead’s girls, who never gave up and played with determination throughout.

WCFC JPL U14 Whites 12-1 Welland Junior Lions (County Cup 2nd Round)
Worcester City JPL U14 Whites cruised to a 12-1 victory in the County Cup second round against Welland Junior Lions. The team started with intensity, pressing high and denying the opposition any time to settle. Goals from Harry (2), Dexter (2), Amir, and Harbor gave the team a 6-0 lead by halftime.
Despite a flurry of substitutions in the second half, Worcester maintained their dominance, adding goals from Harbor, Dexter, Harry, Morgan, Joe (penalty), and Tim. Harbor was named Man of the Match for his two goals and tireless energy. Both Harry and Dexter completed hat-tricks, rounding off a comprehensive team performance. Welland battled hard and managed to score a late consolation goal.

U16 City Girls 13-1 Exhall FC
Worcester City U16 Girls delivered a commanding 13-1 victory against Exhall FC in Coventry. Despite a slow start, with Exhall applying early pressure and forcing goalkeeper Tilly into a crucial save, Worcester soon found their rhythm. Meg Cerrone's persistence led to an own goal, followed by a flurry of goals from Sophie, who scored five, and further strikes from Indie and Tippo.
Meg and Ruby provided key assists throughout the match, while Indie’s hat-trick was a standout, with one of her goals reminiscent of Paul Gascoigne’s famous solo efforts. Tilly was unlucky not to secure a clean sheet as Exhall scored a late consolation. Special mention went to Exhall’s goalkeeper Daisy for her outstanding saves throughout the game. Sophie was named Player of the Match for her five goals and all-round striker play.

U13 Girls 3-1 Inkberrow
The U13 girls handed Inkberrow their first defeat of the season with a 3-1 victory. Ava’s first-half hat-trick gave City a 3-0 lead at halftime. In the second half, Worcester sat back and allowed pressure to build, but the defense held firm. A makeshift backline and strong performances from the goalkeeper and "Mini Birmo" earned them the players of the match honors.
