City too hot for the blue noses

The under 14's visited the home of Birmingham City Junior prem side at the University of Birmingham where the game was played on a 3g surface.

This was going to be a tough game for the city lads with the blues in fine form this season.
City didnt disappoint and settled very early with some composed passing and movement that saw them retain possesion and pleay through the thirds of the pitch.
The blues threatened on a few breaks but any attacks were dealt with comfortably by excellent defensive four of Lee Right Back, Mahmoud & Sutton centre back and Patey left back with Walker in goal.

City were comfortable on the ball with Twigg and Mahoney in the 4 & 8 position rotating and picking up the ball and making short progressive passes with a calmness and not taking too many touches allowing other players to recieve in the right areas and make penetrating runs.
Worcester were first to score with a great move from back to front with play switching from right to left that found Arron Brett in space on the edge of the area and struck his shot low and hard curling into the far opposite corner to make it 0-1 Worcester City

The game Progressed and again city scored with a great shot from Tom Allen outside of the area which soared into the back of the net leaving the keeper stranded
0-2 Worcester City

The game progressed to the last 15 mins and to their credit Birmingham came flying out of the blocks and were awarded a fortunate free kick which was despatched over the wall and over the static Worcester Keeper.
1-2 Worcester, Game on and the Pressure was coming from the blues on Worcester but the defence was coping with the pressure and a few changes were made to creat an outlet up fron with hold up play to allow Worcester to get out higher up the pitch.
This was to pay off immediately with Tom Williams working extremely hard and held the ball up just inside the Blues area and sent a lay off back to Brett who shifted it out of his feet onto his left foot and unleashed an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the blues net, Goal of the day!
1-3 Worcester
The blue came again and from a corner took it short and pulled the defenders out and a soft shot seemed to roll in unopposed 2-3 Worcester
The game finished shortly after, a great team performance from the city lads
Man of the match Ishmael Mahmoud, Outstanbding in Central defence.
