Today Worcester travelled to QPR Midlands in Henley-In-Arden. It was a beautiful morning and the conditions were perfect for playing football.
Q1 – The early stages of the game were keenly contested. Worcester pressed the QPR goal on a number of occasions and were rewarded for their dominance with a goal from Joe Palmer. The ball was delivered into the box from a wide position to Tom Mills on the edge of the box, Tom hit a low shot which the keeper parried away, although Joe was quickest to the rebound and slotted home into an empty net. Worcester added a second after strong wing play from Tom Mills whose cross was headed home by Joe Palmer once again, a fine headed goal! (2-0)
Q2/Q3 – Despite numerous efforts on goal from the Worcester team, no further goals were added although Joe Palmer went close to getting his hat trick and Tristan Webby and Prince Henry also had good efforts on goal. (2-0)
Q4 – The game continued to be fiercely contested and it looked as though the game would finish with a 2-0 scoreline although QPR gave Worcester a bit of a fright scoring a goal from close range with 2 minutes to go. Worcester held their nerve and saw the game out. (2-1)
This was a really well fought game today by two strong and competitive teams. We look forward to QPR coming to Worcester later in the season.
