Still on a role.....

Today we were at home for the visit of Soccer Schools UK (Oxfordshire) FC. The weather was sunny although there was a cold bite in the air.

Q1 – The first quarter was a scrappy affair with neither side able to get a grip on the game although Worcester drew first blood after a strong run and cross from Jacob Titheridge. Jacob crossed the ball from the bye line and Tristan Webby was on hand to power his shot into the roof of the net from the penalty spot. A second goal followed soon thereafter when Kane Bullock put Prince Henry through. Prince ran from the half way line, outpacing the defender. His initial shot was saved by the keeper but Prince was able to score the rebound. Worcester added a third goal when Tristan Webby made a strong run into the box, his cross found Prince Henry who outmuscled the defender and was able to convert from close range. (3-0)

Q2 – Worcester were far more dominant in this quarter and started to knock the ball around with confidence. A fourth goal was scored when Tom Mills put Jamie Meadows through and he passed a fine shot past the keeper from the edge of the area. Worcester went five nil up from an Ethan Sherwood corner which was headed home by Prince Henry. (5-0)

Q3 – This quarter saw Oxford come back into the game and they enjoyed their best spell and were unlucky to not reduce the deficit, but Joel Chadwick was not to be beaten in the Worcester goal. It was Worcester though that extended their lead when Prince Henry latched onto a poor clearance and he was able to slot the ball past the onrushing keeper. (6-0)

Q4 – In the final quarter Worcester seemed to go up a gear and Joe Palmer got on the scoresheet with a well taken finish into the far corner of the net following a good through ball by Tom Mills. An eighth goal was Scored by Tom Mills who headed home a deep cross into the box from Kane Bullock. Tom got his second of the game after rounding the keeper with Kane Bullock again the provider. (9-0)
