Close Encounter

Today we welcomed West Brom Gloucestershire to Claines on a beautiful morning.

Q1 - This was a very evenly contested quarter, with few chances at either end, although both sides went close to opening the score. 0-0

Q2 - Worcester started to get into their stride and had a couple of good opportunities, although the West Brom keeper was in excellent form and repelled Worcester’s efforts. Again, no score in this quarter. 0-0

Q3 - The third quarter found Worcester in a determined mood and they really took the game to West Brom. An individual piece of skill from Tom Mills put Worcester 1 up. Kane Harold was unlucky not to score himself with a header which hit the bar. The ball broke to Tom who flicked ball over his head with his back to goal and then headed past the onrushing keeper. Despite a number of one-on-one opportunities, West Brom's keeper was not to beaten by the Worcester forwards. 1-0

Q4 - The final quarter was a much closer affair, and West Brom had a couple of opportunities to equalise although the Worcester defence held firm and went the home side went 2 up from a corner which was headed home by Harry Williams. 2-0
This was a highly entertaining game, which was keenly contested and was a great advert for the JPL. Good luck to West Brom for the rest of the season.

AWARDS : Gold – Tom Mills, Silver – Zach Bowater, Bronze – Joe Palmer
