Today, Worcester made the relatively short tip to Gloucester to play WBA. It was a warm and bright morning.
Q1 – Worcester were soon into their stride and scored with almost their first attack of the game. After some good interplay between Finn Syson and Tom Mills, Tom drilled a low cross into the box and Joe Palmer was on hand to beat the keeper from close range. Worcester had other chances to extend their lead but the WBA keeper was in fine form. 0-1
Q2 – Worcester again had the better of the play but there were no further goals and few chances created by either side. 0-1
Q3 – The game continued to be a closely fought affair, with both sides hitting the woodwork in this quarter and it was clear that the next goal would be crucial. 0-1
Q4 – Worcester enjoyed the lion share of the possession in this quarter and finally put the game to bed when Tristan Webby was fouled in the box with a penalty being awarded. Tristan stepped up and slotted the ball just inside the post. 2-0
This was a keenly fought contest between two good sides and chances were at a premium. Overall, Worcester deserved their victory.
