Cradley came to Town!

Today, Worcester welcomed Cradley Town in the Nerf JPL Cup. The conditions were bright and blustery and the pitch was in great condition.

1st Half – Immediately from the off, Worcester passed the ball around crisply and were soon 1-0 up from a Tristan Webby corner which was headed in at the back post by Tom Mills. Worcester were now in control of the game and a second goal followed shortly thereafter with a strong run and powerful shot by Prince Henry which went into the far corner of the net.

Slightly against the run of play, Cradley Town pulled a goal back when the Cradley striker was tugged back in the box. The resulting penalty was despatched strongly to the keepers left. The game became a more even affair in the period that followed, although Worcester’s nerved were calmed when Joe Palmer put the homeside 3-1 ahead with a neat shot just inside the post. Worcester again began to dominate and they were rewarded with a fourth goal following good work on the wing by Ollie Berry who found Tom Mills on the edge of the penalty area. Tom slipped Joe Palmer in and he finished neatly into the corner. 4-1

Almost on the strike of half time one of the Cradley Town players suffered a bad injury. Understandably concerned for their player, Cradley did not feel they could continue and the ref made the decision to abandon the game. We wish him well for a speedy recovery.
