8 Goal Thriller!

Today, Worcester welcomed Kidderminster Harriers in the Worcester County Cup. The conditions were good and the sun was shining.

1st Half - The game started with Worcester in the ascendancy. The homeside went close to opening the score after a wonderful twenty pass move without the opposition touching the ball, although the keeper made a good save. The opening stages continued to be dominated by Worcester although there were few clear cut chances. Worcester did eventually take the lead after Joshua Schuck won an important header in the centre of the field. The ball fell to Finn Syson who found Joe Palmer, and Joe lifted the ball over the keepers head and into the roof of the net.

A second goal quickly followed which was a solo effort from Olly Berry who found the top corner of the net with a crisp drive. 2-0
2nd Half – Almost immediately from the kick off Worcester found themselves three ahead when Tom Mills kept the ball in at the back post and his pass was despatched by Joshua Schuck past the helpless keeper. Worcester were now into their stride and Joe Palmer got his second of the game with a bullet shot into the roof of the net which was a stunning strike.

A fifth followed from the penalty spot after Prince Henry was bought down and Tom Mills calmly slotted home. Worcester went six ahead after good work from Prince Henry on the wing who fired a cross into the box. After the ensuing mêlée, Olly Berry was on hand to place a shot into the corner of the net from a tight angle. Another goal followed after a defence splitting pass from Joshua Schuck which was latched onto by Tom Griffin who calmly controlled the ball and rolled his shot past the onrushing keeper. Worcesters final goal came from a Tristan Webby corner which was headed in at the back post by Sam Swatton. 8-0

Overall this was a dominant performance from the home side. Onto the next round!
