Worcester made the short journey to Halesowen Town in attempt to pick up another three points.
First Half
The game started with Worcester immediately on the front foot, playing some good passing football in extremely wet conditions. The breakthrough goal came after a Worcester player was brought down on the halfway line. The free kick was floated in by Zach Bowater and met by Owen Oxley who guided the ball into bottom corner with a rocket of a header. 0-1. Worcester remained on top for the rest of the half with efforts from Tristan Webby and Matty Patrick Rivers coming close, but Halesowen managed to get a goal against the run of play to equalise just before half time. 1-1.
Second Half
The second half started the same way as the first with Worcester on top - however Halesowen were starting to grow into the game. Good chances came at both ends. Worcester’s Ben Clay made numerous important saves but equally the City forwards constantly troubled Halesowen’s goal. A draw was looking likely as the score remained 1-1 going into the last 10 minutes, however Worcester were determined to get the win. Will Caddick was Worcester’s hero as he found the back of the net in the last 5 mins following a corner. Worcester 's defence remained solid for the last 5 mins and the game finished 1-2.
It was a high quality game played by two good footballing sides. We wish Halesowen all the best for the rest of the season.
