Worcester travelled up north to the face Stafford Rangers in the first round of the FA Youth Cup.
First Half
Worcester started well creating some early chances, however it was Stafford who opened the scoring following a cross into the box. 1-0. The first half played out fairly evenly - Worcester were no where near their best.
Second Half
Worcester came out determined to get back into the game and dominated the early exchanges. However Stafford managed to double their lead following a long punt up the pitch and a good finish. 2-0. Worcester pressed relentlessly for the last 15 mins and managed to grab a goal back when Matty Patrick Rivers converted a penalty. 2-1. Despite their pressure Worcester failed to equalise. The game ended 2-1.
It was a disappointing night for the Worcester boys who couldn’t seem to find their usual rhythm. We wish Stafford all the best for the rest of the season.
