Worcester City welcomed local rivals Halesowen Town to the Dell on a rainy Monday night, having beaten them by one goal in their away fixture, we knew this was going to be a hard fought, close match.
First Half
Worcester started well and took the lead after a Tristan Webby shot rattled against the post and was followed in by Owen Oxley. 1-0. However Halesowen replied quickly with a volley at the back post. 1-1.
Halesowen then took the lead through a penalty and the rest of the half played out fairly evenly with both sides playing good football. 1-2.
Second Half
Halesowen came out firing and quickly added another. 1-3. However a Kane Harold wonderstrike flew into the top left corner and pulled the deficit back to one goal. 2-3.
Halesowen regained their 2 goal cushion after they scored from a corner. 2-4.
Worcester battled valiantly in the last 25 mins and managed to pull a goal back through a Tom Mills header after a beautiful ball whipped in by Owen Oxley, but despite their best efforts the game ended 3-4.
It was a great spectacle played by two sides competing at the top of the league.
We wish Halesowen all the best for the rest of the season.
