Worcester welcomed Racing to The Dell Stadium on a freezing, foggy Monday night, with both teams hoping to win and advance in the cup.
First half
Worcester started well and immediately were on the front foot creating numerous opportunities through good passing football. The score was opened by Matty Patrick Rivers who latched onto a Tom Griffin through ball and tucked it into the bottom corner. 1-0.
Worcester regained dominance after the goal with good attacking football and solid defensive work. However there were no further goals in the first half.
Second half
Worcester picked up where they left off and doubled their lead through a Tom Mills penalty; following Owen Oxley being hacked down in the box. 2-0.
Racing grew into the game but Worcester’s defence was strong. The game ended 2-0.
It was a great game to watch as the football was smooth and elegant from Worcester.
