Match report by Mark Andrews

The 1st time back at their old ground for the Colts boys in a fresh new looking City side saw both sides battle for home advantage really well in the opening 5 minutes, but the boys in blue struck 1st when Oscar pinched the pocket of a Oldbury player, before driving forward to swing a lovely ball into box, where Marcel attacked it superbly to finish with his right foot to end a fantastic early move.

Ethan wasn't in the mood to be denied, battling his way into the box before showing great strength to shrug off his marker before firing a super effort across the keeper and into the net, Alf then mugged his man on the half line and raced into the box, with the keeper frozen to his line, he rifled another home.

Oldbury's keeper was having a worldie pulling off many great stops as the City boys kept pushing for goals, but his net was breached again when a Marcel corner was helped over the line by Jakub, before the Oldbury defence stood still for Alf to thread a super ball into the unmarked magic midget Marcel to calmly knock past the keeper to end a great half of football.

2nd half the City boys continued to dominate and play some really nice football, with Jakub showing great feet to pull one back for Ethan to blaze over before a carbon copy ball into Alf saw the City boys add to their tally.

In between a couple of Alf corners that somehow got turned into their own net, Ethan came alive to pounce on a loose ball in the box before being chopped down and winning the boys a penalty, leaving Logan to step up and dispatched his super calm effort past the keeper as the boys finished their league game on a high.

With Oldbury happy to play an extra half all the 7 City lads took the field to play the 9 of Oldbury, but the City lads were still finding ways to create space with Logan setting Ethan up to fire the 1st, Marcels quality corner curled straight in, before Logan walloped a fantastic effort into the top bins and Oscar pressed and attacked a goal keeper kick superby to open up a great chance in the box that he calmly passed into the corner before Marcel scored a super double to finish his day in style take and take his match total up to 5!!!

With the idea to give the lads little instructions or guidance during play, I was very pleased with their performance, they communicated and organised with each other superbly and made some fantastic decisions in and out of possession, always we want to improve, but today the team showed they are learning really really well.

Some great performances all over the park today.

9 ... Oscar - Rock solid at the back, playing some super balls into midfield with the assist for Marcel being the highlight and pressed well in extra time to get his name on the scoresheet with a composed finish.

9 ... Logan - Communicated with the boys superbly on the pitch, reading the transitions really well to spring forward and back, dispatched a super pen before leaving the best to last with a top bins screamer.

9 ... Ethan - Was shown a new skill in the warm up and did fantastically well to be able to perform that skill twice in the game to go along side his normal array of fast feet and solid decision making.

9 ... Marcel - Although he was playing against his mates from school, he must of changed his identity as he kept popping up in space as he fired five super efforts past their keeper in another top performance.

9 ... Jakub - Always seems to be involved in dubious goals was again found in some super postions in the box as the magic moments were happening, showed great feet and awareness to create some fantastic chances 2nd half.

9 ... Alf - Showed great feet to run at Oldbury and force their keeper to make some super saves in another great performance.

10 ...Zayne - Man of the Match going to the goalie when the boys have just scored 10 goals might seem strange, but I'm looking for development and improvement in every player and Zayne shone out today, Communicating throughout to show his understanding of the game tactically has improved so much, with some really accurate distributions and massive clearances to go with some super saves, with the action at the end showing great sweeper keeping to come out and try to make a tackle, before diving on the ball as soon as it went back in the box.
