Match report by Mark Andrews

City got off to a fast start, playing some great football, with Ethan looking lively and causing Netherton lots of early problems, his quick feet helping to set Alf up to score 1st, before slipping Marcel in to fire past the keeper to end another fantastic move.

After weathering a little pressure from Netherton, the boys in blue counter attacked superbly, with Zayne showing great strength to hold the ball up before sending Alf clear to confidently sweep the ball past the keeper.

The city boys ended the 1st half on top with Netherton under pressure from a corner, Oscar did well to attack the attempted clearance, with his effort taking a defection and dropping loose in the box, Ethan reacted quickest to poke the ball past the keeper to finish off a wonderful opening 20 minutes of football.

Two further second half goals followed with Alf squeezing one under the keeper after dancing past two players in the box, before Ethan again showed great desire and timing to arrive and finish off a superb Oscar corner.

Fantastic effort and energy from the boys today, they looked really organised and in control throughout with the new quality pitches really helping them to play some top, top football.

Man of the Match went to Alf for bringing great effort and energy to keep springing from the back to help create overloads in attack as well as showing great quality with his passing and finishing, but all the lads were fantastic in a real team display, Chris always looked commanding and distributed the ball well, Oscar was the rock at the back 1st half, with Logan continuing his good work with a calm and athletic performance 2nd half, Ethan was superb throughout with his silky footwork and busy work rate, Marcel not one to shy away from a battle, gave everything to help the team using his pace and spacial awareness to great effort, Zayne worked hard and showed great signs of development in his hold up play and almost scored with a great strike in the closing minutes.
